Pleasantly surprised to see the results of our "D-J" Jacobs series INTERDICTION get such a boost from Smashwords. http://bit.ly/n7sS3L Smashwords does such a really great service for authors. They let you publish for free and then when you have something worthwhile and it passes their "meatgrinder" for their specifications they put it up on their site in several different formats to download. As an example, INTERDICTION is now available in the following formats;
Kindle (.mobi for Kindle devices and Kindle apps)
PDF (good for reading on PC, or for home printing)
RTF (readable on most word processors)
LRF (Use only for older model Sony Readers that don't support .epub)
Palm Doc (PDB) (for Palm reading devices)
Plain Text (download) (flexible, but lacks much formatting)
Plain Text (view) (viewable as web page)
What more can an author ask for in respect to getting the word out?
